Brilliant Teacher/Student book! Loved it ♥
Bloody hell Jade, you’ve gone and done it again! I don’t think I’ve read one single Jade West book that hasn’t made me squirm a little and boy does this one as well. The relationship between Lizzie and Helen is ‘best friends forever’ and uncomfortable weirdness. I did squirm at Lizzie but oh man it’s so well written when you know the whole story and I don’t think the relationship could have been done better. I realised it was going to be something like it was and no matter how hard you find to read their friendship and the things that happen, it’s definitely very poignant and understanding that some would react this way to situations.
I bawled my bloody eyes out too with Mark, Anna and Helen. Oh dear Lord how emotional!!!
This book really does encompass all that is high school, from the hip vernacular to the growing and emerging woman in Helen. Not once though do you feel this is ‘wrong wrong’ because Helen is 18, therefore everything is consensual, non law-breaking and literally it’s just the taboo of the age difference. Having had best friends who had a 20 year age gap and the other way around, the woman being the oldest I have no qualms, ideals or judgemental issues with such a big age gap. It is what it is, two people in love.
I honestly think this is on another level from Jade, it’s still ‘dirty’ and oh so ‘bad’ in some respects but this one really tugs at your heart strings too. The emotional connection is forefront all the way through, well it absolutely was for me.
Hels Bels that was the best teacher/student book I’ve ever read and will linger for quite some time and definitely deserves an A+ !!
I received a copy of Teach Me Dirty in return for an honest review, and damn I’m so glad I did!
